Thanksgiving Show 11/16
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. This is a perfect time to talk about subjects such as being thankful, early America, turkeys and especially family. We have several activities planned leading up to Thanksgiving Break. On Wednesday, November 16th we will have a special celebration of family. We will be reading the book “The Relatives Came” by Cynthia Rylant on this day. In the story, relatives come to visit. We’d like to invite you and your relatives (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, younger siblings, etc) to join us for a Thanksgiving show filled with festive songs. We regret to say that we cannot invite older siblings at Hidden Hills to join us, as this would be an imposition for their classroom teachers and interfere with their instruction. THE RELATIVES COMING IS TO BE A SURPRISE FOR THE KINDERGARTENERS-PLEASE DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH THEM. What a wonderful surprise this will be for the kindergartners when the door opens and all of the relatives come in! Kinders will attend school on their normal schedule of 8:15-11:36am. Please plan on arriving QUIETLY outside the front doors of K1, K2 and K3 at 10:30. Wait for us to let you in. Please Do Not Knock until instructed to do so. Once all of the relatives have arrived, we will walk to the amphitheater for a show. After the production, we invite you to stay for a treat. Dismissal will be at our regular Wednesday time, 11:36 am.
In addition, we are asking each family to bring a Thanksgiving treat to share with all of the relatives. We are asking parents to bring the following:
AM Parents: One dozen cookies (please make sure there are NO NUTS of any kind in the cookies you bring-we have many allergies)
PM Parents: One dozen 8 oz. bottled waters (minis)
*Please email your child’s teacher if you WILL NOT be able to attend. That way we will be able to make sure that your child has someone to be with during the “celebration”.
We believe that tardies will be significantly reduced by planning on arriving to school well before the bell rings. Whether you are dropping your child off or he/she is walking to school, please help us in addressing this problem by having your student arrive on time. If your child is not inside the kindergarten gates and in line by 8:15AM, for the AM friends or 11:40 for the PM friends when the bell rings, they will be considered late. All gates to the kindergarten play yard will also be closed. If you arrive late, and the gates are closed, you will need to walk your child to the front office to receive a tardy slip. Please do not try to enter through the child’s classroom door as it will disrupt classroom learning. Students will not be admitted into class without a tardy slip.
As we are concerned about your child’s safety, if you know you are tardy please do not send your child to the play yard unattended as the gates will be locked and there will be no playground supervision once class has started. Children that arrive late will be kept in the front office for a few minutes and walked back to class by a staff member as our gates to the play yard will be closed.
Please make every effort to have your child at school on time. Arriving on time supports our classroom learning and eliminates classroom disruption. We appreciate your help with this matter.

IMPORTANT TRAFFIC LAWS:
Parking is PROHIBITED on Albion Way. The San Ramon Police Department will be enforcing and ticketing any vehicle parked on Albion Way. Signs are posted and it is a danger to our children when cars are parked in the bike lane.
Please follow all posted traffic signs around the campus. Police will ticket for illegal left/right turns around the school during the posted hours.
DO NOT park across the street and walk towards Hidden Hills without a crosswalk. This is considered jaywalking, is not safe and SRPD will ticket for this as well.
